Case Study: More Than 10 Years Later, This Forklift Truck Scale Is Still Going Strong

When this customer first contacted Total Weighing Solutions over ten years ago, they weren’t looking for a forklift truck scale.

Their operators needed to weigh pallets during normal handling without driving back and forth to a floor scale. They also wanted labels to be printed automatically in an office on the opposite side of the factory, keeping production moving and reducing unnecessary handling.

After discussing their process, we designed and installed a Dini Argeo forklift truck weighing system that integrated with their label printer and became part of their daily operation.

A Service Call We Didn’t Expect

Earlier this month, the customer got back in touch.

After more than a decade of daily use, they believed the weighing system had finally reached the end of its life and were prepared to invest in a replacement if necessary.

Instead, we carried out a full inspection.

The weighing system itself was still performing perfectly.

The only fault was the small internal coin cell battery that preserves the indicator’s memory. After replacing the battery, the system was fully operational again.

Sometimes the smallest component can cause the biggest concern.

During our visit, we also carried out a routine inspection of the weighing system to ensure it continued to operate accurately. Like any industrial weighing equipment, forklift truck scales should be periodically inspected and calibrated to maintain confidence in the weights they produce.

We always investigate whether equipment can be economically repaired before recommending replacement, helping customers get the maximum return on their investment.
